Online EMDR therapy for adults
EMDR helps painful memories and old beliefs lose their grip, so the past stops running your present. Sessions are online for adults in FL, RI, ME, CT, MD and SC.

What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, research-backed therapy that helps your brain process experiences that got stuck. Instead of talking about the same memory over and over, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, like eye movements or tapping, to help the memory feel less charged.
Many people notice that a memory that once brought up panic, shame, or tightness in the body starts to feel further away. The memory is still there, but it no longer feels like it is happening right now.
EMDR may help if you
- Feel stuck in trauma responses even when you know you are safe
- Carry beliefs like “I’m not enough” or “it was my fault”
- Have memories that still bring up strong feelings in your body
- Have tried talk therapy and understand your story, but still feel the same
- Live with anxiety, panic, or a constant sense of being on guard
How online EMDR works
EMDR works well online. We meet by secure video, and bilateral stimulation can be done with eye movements on screen or with self tapping. You stay in a space that already feels familiar, which can make it easier to settle.
We start slowly. Before any processing, we spend time getting to know your history and building resources so you feel grounded. Processing only begins when you feel ready, and we always close sessions in a way that helps you leave feeling steady.
EMDR with parts work and somatic awareness
I often weave EMDR together with parts work and attention to the body. This helps when some part of you feels protective, numb, or unsure about going near a hard memory. Rather than pushing past those parts, we listen to them, which makes the processing feel safer and more lasting.
Fees and superbills
Sessions are $150 for 50 minutes, held online for adults in Florida, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, Maryland and South Carolina. I am private pay and don’t bill insurance directly, but I can send a superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available.
How to use a superbill for therapyCommon questions
Does my experience have to be “big” trauma for EMDR to help?
No. EMDR can help with any experience that still affects how you feel or respond today, including ongoing relational hurt, criticism, or feeling unseen growing up.
Is online EMDR as effective as in person?
Research and clinical experience suggest online EMDR can be just as effective for many people. We will make sure the setup feels comfortable and safe for you.
How many EMDR sessions will I need?
It depends on what you bring. A single, specific memory may need fewer sessions, while complex or layered experiences take longer. We will check in regularly about how it is going.
Will I have to talk about every detail?
No. One of the things many clients appreciate about EMDR is that you do not need to share every detail out loud for the processing to work.
